While the Prado looks impressive on the outside, the interior design of the car is world class, too.
Smart Entry and Start, a feature across the range, allows the vehicle to be locked or unlocked without even removing the key from your pocket. Thanks to built-in antennae and touch sensors, if your keys are in your pocket or bag, the car knows when you're close and unlocks itself the moment you grip the door handle. The same principle is used for Smart Start - you simply push the brake and the start button to start the engine.
Flying in first class
Practical, clever and attractive interior design makes Prado extremely comfortable, yet highly adaptable. We've engineered the seating to work in a wide variety of configurations; from 2 to 7 people, with lots of room for everything from luggage to shopping.

The Prado's off-road heritage is evident in its excellent ground clearance and high approach and departure angles. Together with outstanding hill-climbing performance, excellent maximum tolerable roll-over angle and good fording capacities, they contribute to the outstanding all-round off-road performance in difficult conditions. (Always have your vehicle serviced after driving through water.)
The Prado's full-time 4WD system delivers excellent drive through performance by changing between high- and low-range setting depending on road conditions. A 'TORSEN' LSD (Limited Slip Differential) on the centre differential gear, the first use in the world of this new mechanism, distributes optimum driving power between the front and rear wheels in response to driving conditions. It provides excellent stability, control and traction performance, especially when accelerating or driving at high speeds.
Should the Prado ever become stuck with the wheels on the side spinning freely, at the touch of a switch the rear differential gear can be locked to enhance traction.
